State: Victoria
Sport: Triathlon
Sporting Accomplishment: 2nd Mooloolaba Continental Cup 2014
How did you get into your sport: Following in the footsteps of my dad, I grew up doing little athletics and swimming lessons so thought “why not ride a bike also”.
Hardest thing about your sport: What does your regular training week consists of:
Managing fatigue during heavy training and study periods. I’m currently completing a Master’s degree so finding a good balance between training, study and part time work can often be quite difficult.
My regular week of training currently consists of:
4x swim sessions, 4x bike sessions, 4x run sessions, 2x S/C sessions
This is further broken down in 2x key sets of swim/bike/run with a mixture of short and long intervals in the pool, hill reps and intervals on the bike and the same running. My other sessions are generally easy distance. I’m also currently completing Pilates and some BW strengthening exercises.
How do you keep motivated: I love what I do and it’s this passion that keep me motivated to work hard on the daily. By setting short and long term goals I find myself more easily motivated to achieve my targets for example; hitting certain split times in training would be a short term goal of mine and a long term goal would be to podium in 70.3 racing.
Goals (Future Plans and Career expectations):
Podium in 70.3 racing
Best piece of advice you have been given:
Believe in yourself and never doubt the work you’ve put in
